Abstract
Applications of modern electrical/ mechanical/control technologies result in highly successful traffic control systems when such applications are coupled with proper technical management considerations. Some of these major planning and managerial concerns discussed include: development of objectives; basic functions; environmental, hardware/software, auxiliary, functional requirements; contractors qualifications and contract administration. Also included is a representative checklist of general items to aid in project planning and implementation. Further, suggestions are offered on evaluation, operation and maintenance planning.
