Abstract
In this work the impact of WiMAX system is investigated in terms of electromagnetic field exposure evaluations for the general public. Several real scenarios are analyzed both with simulations and measurements, which give an overview of the impact of most commonly used Base Station equipment. The obtained results show that WiMAX systems are generally not critical in terms of compliance with exposure limits. However attention must be paid when site sharing with other electronic communications systems, such as GSM or UMTS, is taken into account, especially in Italy, where the regulation is particularly severe.
