  • Abstract
Many products submitted for calibration do not need to meet any particular requirement but the user still requires that the product is satisfactorily and adequately calibrated. In many cases, the user of the product is not aware of his precise calibration needs and normally requests calibration to the manufacturers specification. The calibration laboratory will need to determine precisely what tests need to be performed to satisfy the request. Relating manufacturers product specifications to the measurement standards and measurement uncertainties is therefore an important function of the calibration laboratory to ensure that adequate calibration is carried out
