Abstract
This paper conducts a 24-hour dynamic simulation of non-steady thermal environment in a room in an office building with the CFD software, including non-steady factors, such as the outdoor temperature and the solar radiation. It calculates and analyses the indoor thermal environment according to the influence of the changes of ventilation rate at night on the heat storage of the maintenance structure of a building. The paper aims to look for an energy efficient operation mode by appropriately increasing ventilation rate at night at the premise of meeting the requirements of the indoor thermal comfort, and explores the energy conservation potential by the combined use of ventilation and air conditioning.
