Abstract

The quality of engineering courses comes from the combination of the theoretical and practical components of the subject. The hands-on aspect of their education would equip graduates with the necessary practical knowledge as they enter the manufacturing industries. However, the problem is aggravated in microelectronic education by the high cost of the equipment and its maintenance. A six-month full-time industrial attachment was included in the curriculum to give the students hands-on experience. In addition, an e-learning module was introduced to ensure that the theoretical content of the course is not reduced as a result of the industrial attachment
