Abstract
An electromagnetic scattering model for a layer of periodically distributed cylinders over a dielectric half space, which takes into account multiple scattering up to second order, is developed based on the second order analytical solutions for two adjacent cylinders. By applying the Monte-Carlo simulation technique, the effect of the periodic structure of the cylinder layer on the scattering properties are investigated and the results show that the periodic structure may have a great effect on the scattering properties
