Abstract
We proposed a hybrid solution to solve the packet contention problems by combining a delay-line optical buffer in a wavelength convertible multi-hop optical network. The computed result shows that the deflection probability is much reduced. Furthermore, the required number of wavelength converters becomes smaller at full load compared to wavelength convertible multi-hop optical network under hot-potato routing scheme.
