The authors investigate the contribution of the dielectric properties to the hydrostatic piezoelectricity of polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF). The task requires a suitable analysis of the moment term and consideration of the dependence of the effective electric moment of the sample on the permittivities and the shape of the several phases
