  • Abstract
    The control of radio frequency emission from electrical and electronic devices has been a requirement for the past 50 years all over the world. This requirement is gaining importance day by day due to the all round progress and greater occupation of the EM spectrum by the upcoming devices. Though theoretically, the occupancy is only a tiny band compared to the total EM band, but because of the limitations in technology, the crowding in the usable band is ever increasing. A company coming under the quality system requirements of ISO-9000/IS-14000 series has to fulfil the quality clause under 8.4.2 of IS14004-1. 1994 for safety and environmental compatibility. Such standards which need to be met by the process/facility during the development of the product needs to be made available to the intending companies/customers. This issue is discussed, indicating the preferred ranges based on the IEC standards
