  • Abstract
    The purpose of this study is to develop an information system for analysis of driving time and fuel consumption waste while vehicles waiting for traffic lights. For this research purpose, we develop a data collection method, i.e., using OBD interface to get data for fuel consumption estimation, and using GPS data to obtain the vehicle location. The data flow designed in this study is as follows. First, collecting information from OBD; and then, transferring the data into an Android PAD Platform (containing GPS data) via Bluetooth; and after that, the data is transferred through 4G into the server-site and deposited in a driving data warehouse. Thus, the data is transformed and reorganized to a road dynamic data warehouse. Users may make inquiries through the web system may be used to maintain the data and to provide data analysis and data visualization. The system may support traffic decision by these statistical charts and to find the traffic problems. Finally, this study applies the developed method to analyze Taoyuan county´s road situation. Using these information the system can help traffic managers to understand traffic light design problem and to improve the design of traffic light time planning.
