  • Abstract
    Two aspects of radiopaging system design using the CCIR radiopaging code no. 1 (POCSAG) are addressed. First, the many factors affecting the traffic handling capacity of a paging system are discussed, and the use of a computer simulation program as a tool for system design is described. Second, the performance of different error correcting decoders has been evaluated by computer simulation. It is demonstrated that error correction can yield a worthwhile reduction in the minimum signal level required by a display pager.
