Abstract
Radio communications within buildings has recently been of considerable interest. Radio communications within buildings are finding many new applications in the form of portable radio data distribution systems [PRDDS] for large office complexes and for portable telephone services [PRCS] in hospitals, industrial plants and warehouses. PRABX [Private Radio Automatic Branch Exchange] system has been proposed and its performance studied in terms of probability of call blocking, excess delay and average number of attempts required to access the system has been studied through simulation. The effect of fading on the access delay has also been studied.
