Abstract
Analysis of bifurcations in power systems requires a combination of numeric and symbolic computation. Symbolic computation is useful not only for implementing special constructions that require it (such as the Liapunov Schmidt reduction) but also for assembling models and setting up code for numerical analysis procedures. In this paper the authors describe a set of such tools
