Abstract
The q-d-n model of an AC-AC power converter feeding an induction motor is set forth in the process of which a carrier-based generalized discontinuous pulse-width modulation control strategy for the converter is developed. Computer simulations of the starting transient, dynamic response and the steady-state analysis and performance characteristics of the motor under constant open-loop Volts/Hz operation are presented. The balance of the paper addresses the high performance control strategy for the AC-AC power converter-fed induction motor drive
