  • Abstract
    SMS Demag AG are at present developing and implementing an overall system for plant and process monitoring (PPMS). The automated use of expert knowledge and of that derived from maintenance and quality assurance relieves the operating personnel when establishing the plant availability and product quality. Preventive action can be initiated by causal correlation. Quality loss and plant shutdown periods can be reduced. The PPMS has already been implemented for selected plant components. The speedy extension for further plant components is planned
