Abstract
The use of joint power control and optimum beamforming is a powerful interference management technique for CDMA systems. This paper focuses on the problem of the feasibility of power allocation of systems employing smart antennas. From this point of view, the impact of smart antennas on a single cell power-controlled CDMA system capacity is discussed, in the light of such factors as users´ QoS requirements and distribution, the number of antennas as well as array geometry
