Abstract
Mobility highly affects the quality of service in multimedia networks. This applies both to link layer mobility (radio link quality) and to network layer mobility (hand-over, roaming). We develop an abstract framework for different architectures of network layer mobility support like Mobile IP, Cellular IP, IPv6, GSM, UMTS, etc. and discuss their appropriateness for QoS handling
