Abstract
In this paper, the use of base station antenna arrays in wireless code division multiple access (CDMA) systems is studied. Different beamforming algorithms are simulated based on the cdma2000 uplink physical layer specifications. The performance of these algorithms is compared as a function of the number of active users under realistic conditions. The paper also presents a post-processing multi-user-beamforming (MUB) algorithm to be applied at the base station. Simulation results show an improvement in performance after applying MUB
