  • Abstract
    An eigenfilter method is developed for design of arbitrary complex coefficient Laguerre digital filters. By minimizing a quadratic measure of the error in the passband and stopband, a complex eigenvector of an appropriate complex Hermitian and positive definite matrix is computed to obtain the complex-valued Laguerre filter coefficients. Also two analytical methods are proposed to evaluate the optimum Laguerre parameter. These are: a modified version of the real Laguerre case in time domain, and a new method for the frequency domain. The numerical exhaustive search method, used in the real Laguerre filter, can also be applied to the complex case
