Abstract
The frequency response masking technique is a very efficient approach for the realization of sharp 1-D filters. Recently, this technique has been applied to the synthesis of 2-D filters and sharp 2-D half-band filters. In this paper, we generalize the technique to a multi-stage structure to further reduce the implementation complexity and present an investigation on how the design parameters may be selected
