Abstract
A new widely tunable laser structure is proposed, a tunable twin guide (TTG) laser with 2 different sampled or superstructure gratings. This widely tunable laser only requires 2 instead of 3 tuning currents and has a much shorter cavity length than existing widely tunable laser diodes.
