Abstract
We also applied long period fibre gratings (LPFGs) to various sensing application such as bend, transverse load, and index change sensors by using the peak-splitting effect of LPFGs. Furthermore, since the lower order cladding mode is insensitive to the external perturbation change compared with the higher order cladding modes,We will discuss a simple method to change the transmission characteristics of long-period fiber gratings using UV post-exposure. Application of the resonant peak splitting to bend, transverse load, and index change sensing will be described.
