  • Abstract
The problem of useful echoes identification in an ultrasound (US) signal is faced. The approach used consists in the time rearrangement of a paths matrix built utilizing the electroacoustic equivalence. Some acoustic parameter identifications of slabs encountered by US wave has been demonstrated in particular cases. The precise time positioning of identified useful echoes has been obtained applying an improved maximum likelihood estimator. The large computational load of the method has been faced by using parallel computation. Experiments on software performance are also presented
