Abstract
The effect of signal dependent jitter noise on channel capacity is investigated. Upper and lower bounds on capacity are computed numerically for channels with a mix of signal dependent jitter noise and additive white Gaussian noise. The resulting bounds allow for comparison of potential coding gain for differing amounts of jitter noise and varying code rates. The comparison provides insight into the effect jitter noise has on channel capacity and shows that in some cases there is significantly more coding gain possible when the noise is predominantly jitter noise
