Abstract
The three-phase three-level neutral-point-clamped (NPC) topology is widely employed in rectifiers, active power filters, and electric machine drives. This paper proposes an alternative control strategy for the NPC topology based on the one-cycle control technique and the hybrid pulsewidth modulation strategy. Optimal unbalanced load compensation is achieved with the proposed scheme, of which the principal advantages are simplicity, robustness, and low cost. Experimental results confirm the feasibility of the proposed controller.
