Abstract
All man-made system bases its decisions on sensory information. Sampling sensor signal is extremely important because it is the only process that connects the real world with the digital world. This paper presents sampling techniques for analog sensor signals that extract, from the sampling instant, information about the signal shape being of great interest for control and real time systems. Besides, as the new sampling can be embedded into sensors, allows applications in sensor networks and sensory fusion architectures. The sampling algorithms are analysed and additional experimental results are provided for sensor signals.
