Abstract
Recently, the capacity of renewable power sources installed in small remote islands, whose power grid is isolated from large scale grid, increases because of the environmental affairs and the generation cost and so on. But in the small remote island grid, the power fluctuation caused by renewable power sources affects power grid stability and operation. In this paper, several stabilizing methods based on Japanese case by use of power conditioning system (PCS) and related technology are reviewed.
