Abstract
This paper proposes a novel sufficient differential criterion of current amplitude for high penetration distribution network with distributed generators. Based on the analysis of current amplitude fault characteristic and its applicability in the distribution network with DGs, we derive the form of differential criterion of current amplitude and its improved criterion which enhances the sensitivity and reliability of protection. The criterion just needs current amplitude information without strict synchronization of data sampling so that it has better ability of anti- synchronization error. All the credibility was tested in the final simulation.
