  • Abstract
Power electronics based equipment, such as Railway Power Conditioner (RPC), are always used in traction substations for the purpose of negative sequence and reactive power compensation. However RPC use indirect compensation method and is affected by uncertainties in operation, such as unbalanced transformer parameters. Therefore, an Enhanced Railway Power Conditioner (ERPC) is proposed in this paper. It use current and voltage measured on primary side of transformer, which can realize closed-loop control including transformer and improve the compensation precision of whole system. According to different capacity, a compensation strategy is put forward to achieve better effect. The effectiveness and accuracy of ERPC and the corresponding control method are verified by simulation test.
