Abstract
In this paper, ABC (Artificial Bee Colony), PSO (Particle Swarm Optimization), TS (Tabu Search) and SA (Simulated Annealing) algorithms are applied to estimate the elastic constant of the laminated composite beam by means of measuring vibration frequency of the beam using experimental modal analysis. For this purpose, a proper object function is defined based on the square of deviation between measured and numerically calculated frequency. Then by minimizing this function which is in term of the elastic constant employing preceding algorithms, this constant can be estimated. Also, comprehensive comparative results of mentioned algorithms are reported.
