  • Abstract
A technique for selective localization of four-photon mixing (FPM) is described. The new technique relies on localized counter-colliding power transfer and is capable of mapping transverse geometry, dispersion, stress and birefringent properties in fiber-based devices. The technique is capable of resolving core fluctuations comparable to a single silica molecular diameter.
