Abstract
Empirical Mode Decomposition (EMD) is a new concept in the field of signal processing. The technique extended to analyze two-dimensional (2D) data is known as Bidimensional EMD (BEMD). In the paper, an edge detection method for Feather and Down Image using BEMD and soft morphology methods is proposed. Firstly, the BIMF image of Feather and Down Image is decomposed by BEMD, and then the BIMF image is converted into binary image and processed using soft morphology, and the result image is edge detection of the Feather and Down Image. After detecting the edge of the Feather and Down Image using our method, the recognition rate of the Feather and Down Category is obviously raised.
