Abstract
This paper proposes a novel localization algorithm with mobile anchors in order to balance the complex technology for distance estimates with the accuracy of the localization. Based entirely on comparison of the received signal strength transmitted by mobile anchors, the static nodes can acquire their positions without estimating these distances directly from other nodes. This proposed algorithm decreases the complexity of the hardware equipment, reduces the number of the static nodes in the course of their self-localization, and also improves the accuracy of localization result. Meanwhile, this algorithm is distributed and scalable since all computations and communications are purely local. We validate our approach through both analysis and simulated results, which demonstrates the performance outperforms the conventional methods.
