Abstract
The simultaneous identifiability of variable spatial coefficients, initial states and external forces for vibrating string and Euler-Bernoulli beam equations are considered. It is shown under some conditions that all the coefficients, the initial state and the source term can be uniquely determined by means of boundary control and collocated observation in finite time duration.
