Abstract
The contribution rate of wind power on the grid is difficult to achieve beyond 10%. The wind-powered generator increases the complexity and the manufacturing costs for meeting the requirements of the power grid, which limits the applications of large-scale wind power. The traditional coal-to-SNG process is an important technology route for coal chemical, but releases a large number of CO2. In the integrated system of large-scale non-grid-connected wind power and coal-to-SNG, wind power is used to electrolyze water for producing H2 and O2. The O2 is fed to the gasifier as a gasification agent. The H2 is mixed with syngas to adjust the H2/CO to an appropriate ratio for a methanation reaction. It can avoid the bottleneck issue of wind power, sharply reduce manufacturing costs of wind farms, enable the omission of the air separation unit, CO conversion device and CO2 removal process, achieve zero emissions of CO2, increase the output of SNG, enable coal chemical industry to become “green” and make large-scale wind power application possible, realizing the optimization of economic, social and environmental benefits.
