Abstract
The symbol error probability of equal-gain diversity reception in a fast frequency hopped spread spectrum multiple-access communication system with M-ary frequency-shift keying modulation is obtained. It is assumed that the system operates through a frequency-selective slow-fading Rayleigh channel coupled with other user interference and additive white Gaussian noise. The effect on the system performance of unequal signal/noise ratios in different diversity channels is investigated. Numerical results show that the system performance can be significantly improved by means of equal-gain diversity
