Abstract

A knowledge-based system is developed that allows cooperation (drive by a control structure) among its different processing levels to attain high efficiency in the recognition task. In addition, an adaptive approach is applied to texture analysis by fractals, appropriate filterings, and Karhunen-Loeve methodology for image fusion. The architecture of the system is based on a heterarchical control structure, with a blackboard-type database, and on some backtracking facilities operating at the various processing levels
