Abstract
A pulse design based on Rayleigh pulse for ultra- wideband (UWB) short range radar for vehicular application is proposed. Through the search of the peak frequency, initial value range of the pulse shape parameter alpha is selected. Then the upper bound and lower bound are determined by 22 and 29 GHz keen points at which the PSD is equal to or lower than spectral mask. Simulation results show that this method can generate pulse shapes which comply with FCC regulation.
