    In a Chinese text to speech (TTS) system that is based on syllabic waveform concatenation, proper control of the juncture between syllables and prosody of sentences is essential to improving the naturalness of the synthetic speech. A perception experiment on formant transitions between syllables and a prosody model designed for Chinese TTS system are presented
