Abstract
In this paper, flexible inverted-F antennas (FIFA) printed on flexible substrate are presented for 2.4 GHz ISM band operation. The characteristics of the antennas in the form of flat and bend are studied first. Secondly, to reduce the negative effect caused by nearby objects on the performance of the antenna, the antenna is redesigned by adding a ferrite layer at the bottom of the flexible substrate. It is found that the ferrite material makes the redesigned antenna possible to be used under general environments or conditions.
