Abstract
Multitaper-based Spike-field coherence (SFC) is used as an estimation of phase synchronization of local field potentials (LFPs) and spiking action potentials. To improve the SFC estimation, a common practice is to carry out multiple trials of experiment. In this study, we have shown 1) that trial number can be reduced by more tapers; 2) the effect of additive Gaussian noise to LFPs and Gaussian jittering of spike timing on SFC estimation.
