  • Abstract
    According to the analysis and the research on the residential environment concept and methods of the planning and design of the modern residential environment, it discusses residential environment planning and design scheme in the reconstruction after earthquake disasters. The article also points out that it should make the residential environment planning and design from such aspects as the reconstruction sites, the planning system, local culture, building and environment design, psychological reconstruction, and thus establishes good social and cultural environment so as to improve people´s quality of their lives. At the same time, it briefly reviews the organization approach and overall ideas of the Wenchuan earthquake reconstruction planning. And some basic methods and strategies of the recovery are discussed in the article.
