Abstract
This paper proposes probabilistic models for snapshot isolation of database management system. The snapshot isolation is known as an effective method to enhance the performance of database system. However, it degrades the system performance in the case where the system has large network latency such as distributed database system. This paper presents probabilistic models for the dynamics of snapshot isolation of database system and exhibits the optimization of system performance with respect to snapshot isolation from the analytical point of view.
