Abstract
In order to deliver different communication services to users via wireless links a medium access control (MAC) protocol should be provided. In this paper, a MAC scheduler is presented which implements the multiplexing of packets through the air interface. The service strategy of the scheduler is based on polling with priorities (combining static and dynamic priorities), thus optimizing the resource allocation. Under this scheduling strategy the QoS of the different services are satisfied. The different services, relevant to ATM classes, considered in this study are CBR, VBR and ABR which include voice (with or without voice activity detector), video, data (file transfer, Internet traffic, e-mail).
