  • Abstract
    An Improved optimization method for helix pitch profile in traveling wave tubes has been described in this paper. Regardless the reflection waves effect, the sequence characteristic of the beam-wave interaction calculation and the power saturation index such as field relative phase are integral to the optimization method. By Setting several backup point and using the field relative phase, the beam-wave interaction calculation for optimization have been cut down. The total optimization time can reduce to 50% approximately. Also the optimal result can be easily achieved by this method.
