Abstract
In this paper, the delay performances of the Go-back-N (GBN) ARQ scheme are considered over the correlated, noisy channel, which is modeled as a two-state Markov chain. By means of a queueing theoretic approach, the generating function of the transmission delay of a frame is derived in terms of the decay factor of a Markov chain. The throughput formula is also expressed. The effect of the decay factor on the delay performance is investigated. It is shown that the approximate formula has a good agreement with a computer simulation
