Abstract
The paper describes how mechatronics education has been addressed at the University of Abertay Dundee since 1983. The learning experience of students involves the integration of microelectronics technology with mechanically related systems through direct digital control applications. Brief details are given of the practical laboratory facilities which are considered to be an essential feature of any mechatronics course
