  • Abstract
    A SAC-OCDMA system is proposed to be used in passive optical networks. Performance of the system depends on the spectral characteristics of the elements used such as optical source, encoding/decoding elements etc. An uniform FBG (UFBG) is proposed to be used for encoding/decoding of the SAC-OCDMA system. UFBG has side lobes in its spectral characteristics. It is characterized by the parameter, effective bandwidth. In this paper a model of UFBG is presented which further can be utilized for performance analysis of SAC-OCDMA system.
