Abstract
We extend the previously introduced the ratio of subspace resolved quadratics (RSRQ) algorithm to estimate time delays in asynchronous multi-user CDMA. In particular, we compare this technique with the modified MUSIC algorithm of Strom et al. (see IEEE Trans. Commun., vol.44, no.1, p.84-93,1996). We find performance gains over MUSIC for low signal-to-noise ratios and small sample support. We apply the perturbation theory of Vaccaro and Li (1994) to examine the performance of the two estimators at low signal-to-noise ratios.
