Abstract
A parsing algorithm designed to deal with the syntactical irregularity of most words is described. The algorithm, which is based on the notion of syntactical usage of a word, uses a simple grammar that indicates the structure of a sentence up to the main verb. A stack containing nonterminal symbols and another stack holding the actions corresponding to the nonterminals are initialized using the grammar. After initialization the contents of the stacks are dictated by the usage of the words encountered while parsing a sentence
